Docker Fundamentals

The course gives you a solid understanding of core concepts on Docker containers. You will containerize a Python application consisting of a backend API, a database and a proxy server. By building Docker containers from scratch you learn to tap into the full potential of containerization in your development workflow. After the course you will have a much easier time setting up dev containers, AI sandboxes or Kubernetes.

Goals

You will learn to write Dockerfiles from scratch and run them as containers. The course introduces you to the core building blocks of containerization: images, networking, volumes and environment configuration. You will use docker-compose to orchestrate a multi-container application and pick up habits for logging, debugging and cleaning up along the way.

The main goal of the course is to give you the confidence to containerize your own applications.
